Thunder Road officials have announced the release of the 2018 schedule of events at the “Nation’s Site of Excitement”. Nineteen racing events are planned for the Barre high banks spanning late April until late September.

We’re almost to the finish line of the 2017 Season in Review! September and October are always a little bittersweet in the short racing world, as they signify the final weeks of an exciting season. So how do you distract yourself from the bitter? With some sweet on-track action! Beginning with the Labor Day Classic and ending with the Vermont Milk Bowl, the final three weekends of the 2017 Thunder Road had something for everyone. Champions were crowned, history was made, and legends were born within the span of hours, minutes – and in one case, seconds. Thunder Road Speedbowl honored the top performers of the 2017 racing season at the annual Banquet of Champions on Saturday, November 4 at the Barre Elks Club. Hundreds of drivers, crew members, and officials were in attendance to present season-long and special awards.

The month of August may be the dog days of summer, but there was nothing oppressive about the action at Thunder Road. With the season beginning to wind down, the pressure was on the title contenders to make their move, while drivers who had struggled in the first half of the season looked to turn things around down the stretch. What drivers would get hot at just the right time? Would anyone see their season come apart? Who would be the first champion crowned in the 2017 season? As summer officially began and the month of July arrived at Thunder Road, things continued to heat up in the air and on the track. Thunder Road officials announced today that Jason Woodard has been disqualified from his apparent victory in the Lenny's Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger Mini Milk Bowl held as part of the 55th Vermont Milk Bowl on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1.
