Barre, VT – Waterbury Center’s Jason Woodard put the power down late in the going to take the win in the Myers Container Service Triple Crown opener at Capitol City Auto Mart Night on Friday, June 7. Woodard took the lead from polesitter Tyler Austin on lap 47 of the 75-lap event and never let up en route to his seventh career Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger win.

Barre, VT – The weekly racing season at Barre’s Thunder Road is ready to begin. The cars and stars of the “Nation’s Site of Excitement” hit the high banks this Friday, June 7 at 7:00pm for Capitol City Auto Mart Night. More than 100 cars are expected for the special Friday night spectacular that has a packed program of events for the whole family.

Hometown racer Jason Corliss remained the man to beat at Thunder Road with a dominating victory in the 57th Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic on Sunday, May 26. Corliss took the lead on lap 27 of the 100-lap event and was never challenged the rest of the way en route to his fourth straight victory on the Barre high banks dating back to the 2018 season.

After a three-week wait, Barre’s Thunder Road is ready to get the 2019 racing season back in gear. The 57th Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic hits the high banks this Sunday, May 26 with some of the biggest stars the Northeast ready for a huge holiday weekend.

The battle to be the 2019 “King of the Road” begins Sunday, May 26 at 1:30pm. The 57th Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic is one of the oldest races at Thunder Road, and once again, it will be the opener of a 14-round Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model campaign that spans from late-May to mid-September.

Hometown racer Jason Corliss dominated down the stretch to take his second consecutive Community Bank N.A. 150 at Barre’s Thunder Road on Sunday, May 5. Corliss held off a mid-race charge from reigning “King of the Road” Scott Dragon of Milton, VT to grab his third consecutive ACT Late Model Tour win at Thunder and 13th career Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model victory at the “Nation’s Site of Excitement”.

The pits were bustling at Barre’s Thunder Road on Saturday, May 4 as teams from throughout the Northeastern U.S. and Canada converged for Community Bank N.A. 150 Practice Day. A total of 113 cars across four divisions took to the high banks with 98 of them also appearing at the morning’s Thunder Road Car Show.
