Barre, VT — After watching the weather over the last 48 hours, and seeking counsel with area meteorologists, Thunder Road officials have made the decision to postpone the 45th Vermont Lottery Governor’s Cup schedule of events to a later date that will be released by the Barre offices next week. With the forecast not only calling for thunderstorms but also a severe threat that includes high winds, concentrated lightning and the possibility of hail, officials felt their hands were tied once again by Mother Nature.

Barre, VT — Although a bright morning cast a hopeful glimpse for Friday’s weekly racing opener at Thunder Road, forecasts continue to indicate a five-hour window of unstable weather starting anytime after 4:00pm across the Barre/Montpelier area. With that forecast holding steady over the last several days, and with a touring series as part of Friday’s planned event, Thunder Road officials have made the difficult decision to postpone McGee Hyundai of Barre Night to Friday, September 6. There will be no racing on Friday, June 7 at Thunder Road.
