Thunder Road to Host Rawhide Rodeo Tour in October
/This October, Thunder Road fans will get to experience a different kind of horsepower. Track officials announced Wednesday they have agreed to host the Rawhide Rodeo Tour on Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7. The inaugural Barre Pro Rodeo will be sponsored by Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel and presented in partnership with WDEV Radio and WOKO.
The 2-day event is the first visit to central Vermont by a professional rodeo tour in recent memory. Both days of competition will feature a variety of the most popular North American rodeo events, including bareback riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, tie-down roping, and bull riding. It will be held rain or shine.
The event is sanctioned by the International Professional Rodeo Association (IPRA), one of the largest rodeo organizations in the world. More event details will be released at a later date.
“We think this is going to be a great event for the whole family,” Thunder Road co-owner Cris Michaud said. “It’ll be a different experience than what Thunder Road fans are used to, that’s for sure. But we’re looking forward to working with Rawhide Rodeo and introducing folks in central Vermont to something they may not have seen in person before.”
The Rawhide Rodeo Company was established in 1987 and produces a variety of rodeos and other rodeo-related events. Their 2018 touring schedule includes nearly 100 days’ worth of professional rodeo competitions, amateur competitions, and rodeo clinics throughout the United States and Canada. They are based in Piffard, NY and have received a variety of international awards for performance and production.
