New Sponsor Nolato Sponsors 4th Annual Road Warrior Challenge

Barre, VT — Nolato joined the Thunder Road family of sponsors midsummer in 2022, signing on to sponsor the much-anticipated 4th annual Road Warrior Challenge, the 50-lap, $500-to-win extravaganza that pits the best and brightest of the novice four-cylinder class against one another for all the fame and glory the ‘Nations Site of Excitement’ has to offer not only here in New England, but around the world on FloRacing!

Starting back in 2019 as a celebration of the novice racers that always guarantee one heck of a show, the Nolato Road Warrior Challenge has been the one date circled on every competitor’s calendar in the garage. At 50 laps, it is the longest distance of the year for the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors and at $500-to-Win, it’s their richest race too! Aside from their annual Mini Milk Bowl that closes out the season, the Nolato Road Warrior Challenge is the race of the year for some of your favorite drivers.

The Nolato Road Warrior Challenge earns its title in several different ways. It’s a challenge for the drivers, more than doubling their usual 20-lap weekly distances once a year. That distance is also a challenge on the cars themselves, these junkyard rigs pulled from the weeds with a roll cage thrown in may not make the whole 50-laps, or even return home in one piece! Lastly, money talks. Already we’ve caught wind that after taking third in Sunday’s Enduro 200, Barre’s Nick Deblois is ready to take on the Nolato Road Warrior Challenge with teams across Vermont hammering in the final details on their rides in search of the $500 top prize!

Midseason Champion Christopher Pelkey continues to lead fellow Graniteville-native Stephen Donahue by 29-points in the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model standings. After getting his bell rung early in the 38th annual Enduro 200, Donahue will no doubt be glad to return to the Norm Andrews Late Model. Montpelier’s Kyle Pembroke is still right in the thick of it, just one-point behind Donahue with consistent numbers week in and week out.

After narrowly missing out on the Myers Container Service Triple Crown championship last Thursday, Milton’s Sam Caron continues to put the big picture at his team’s forefront, leading the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger standings by 26-points. The Chittenden County Clash continues in the Tiger ranks with Caron leading Williston’s Justin Prescott and Hinesburg’s Derrick Calkins in the fight for the iconic year-end championship. Defending champion Mike Martin showed great speed in last week’s 100-lapper and may be our next 2022 first time winner in the ultra-competitive division on Nolato Night.

Waterford’s Dean Switser, Jr. continues his commanding lead in the rk Miles Street Stocks after his podium finish in the annual Street Stock Special 50-lapper ahead of Williamstown’s Josh Lovely. Switser’s 45-point lead will be hard to beat as the season winds down in the Dog Days of Summer ahead, but that isn’t holding anyone back. Lovely, Kyler Davis, Jeffrey Martin and the one-and-only ‘Wiener’ Hennequin won’t be laying down anytime soon, expect the action to start heating up this Thursday on Nolato Night.
