Thunder Road, ACT Join Yankee Sportsman's Classic at the Champlain Valley Expo This Weekend

Barre, VT — In preparation for the upcoming season, Officials are excited to announce that the Thunder Road and American-Canadian Tour organizations have been asked to join the Yankee Sportsman Classic at the Champlain Valley Expo this weekend, Friday January 20th through Sunday January 22nd. Along with the booth ready to showcase the 2023 season for the only asphalt short track in the State of Vermont and one of the oldest international stock car series in North America, two teams have brought their machines in to show-off for the crowds of over 10,000 that will visit Vermont’s largest outdoorsman exhibition.

Three-time Thunder Road ‘King of the Road’ track champion, and former ACT Tour Rookie of the Year, Jason Corliss will be showcasing his ride for the upcoming season. This will be the first glimpse of Burnett Motorsports’ freshly announced primary sponsor Booska Worldwide Movers, a scheme Corliss himself admits he hasn’t yet seen. “(Car Owner) Chris (Burnett) never shows me the real design until I see it in person,” said Corliss. “The car is leaving straight from the vinyl shop to the Yankee Sportsman’s Classic.”

Also on display will be the mount of multi-time winner and longtime Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger supporter Mike Billado. Billado’s Myers Container Service Chevrolet Monte Carlo is a force to be reckoned with on the Barre highbanks with Myers also sponsoring the popular Flying Tiger Triple Crown Series moving into its seventh year at Thunder Road, becoming a popular summer staple for fans and drivers alike.

“We’re excited to get out and see folks this weekend for the Yankee Sportsman’s Classic,” said Thunder Road and ACT Marketing Director Marvin Galarneau. “We’re very grateful to Mike, Jason and Chris (Burnett) for allowing us to showcase their cars for fans new and old to get a glance at what’s in store this coming season.”
