R&R Street Stocks Back at Thunder Road Alongside PASS for May 6th Lid-Lifter
/Barre, VT — After a stellar 30-car-field opening field at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on April 15th, the R&R Street Stock Open Series makes its return to Thunder Road as part of a revamped opening weekend on the Barre highbanks. Thunder Road officials have released the Entry Form for the $8,800 R&R Race Parts Street Stock Open as they race alongside the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models and PASS Modifieds to begin the 64th season of stock car racing in Barre, Vermont on Saturday, May 6th.
The R&R Race Parts Street Stock Open Series started as a big-money one-off event at Lee USA Speedway in 2020 before moving to White Mountain Motorsports Park in 2021. The series came about last season as the folks at R&R Race Parts NH took their one-off show into a once-monthly traveling show, visiting some of New England’s most unique facilities to give racers from across the Northeast a place to bring their machines that may otherwise be unable to line-up with local rules packages.
Also released today was the early entry list for the PASS Super Late Models which currently includes multi-time PASS champion Johnny Clark and a pair of young Oxford Plains Speedway track champions Gabe Brown and Max Cookson. Dennis Spencer Jr., Scott McDaniel and Joe Pastore are also entered into the Super Late Model portion of the Thunder Road season-opening weekend.
“We’re looking forward to getting the 2023 season off the ground, especially with this new opening weekend format,” said Thunder Road managing partner Cris Michaud. “We enjoy having these series come in and bring drivers, teams and fans from across New England to enjoy Thunder Road, so why not start early?”

It all starts with the PASS Super Late Models, PASS Modifieds and R&R Street Stock Open Series on Saturday, May 6th following the annual Thunder Road car show starting at 9:00am. Sunday, May 7th will feature the silver anniversary for the American-Canadian Tour Community Bank 150 plus the start of the championship season for the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers and rk Miles Street Stocks with the Burnett Scrap Metal Road Warriors in tow.
