Rain Forces Preston’s Kia Independence Night Spectacular Postponement

Barre, VT — With excitement at the tipping point on Saturday, the weather has forced Thunder Road officials to postpone Sunday’s Preston’s Kia Independence Night Spectacular program in it’s entirety to Sunday, July 30th. Originally scheduled for Sunday, July 2nd, the certainty of rain clouding over the Independence Night Spectacular pushed officials to make the move. Preston’s Kia Holiday Fireworks Spectacular has now been moved to Sunday, July 30th.

“It’s never an easy decision to Postpone or move events around,” said Thunder Road managing partner Cris Michaud. “There are a lot of moving pieces that we just couldn’t warrant with the certainty of rain coming in but we look forward to seeing everyone on Midseason Championship night this Thursday.

Thursday, July 6th brings the Times Argus Midseason Championships to Thunder Road International Speedbowl as the championship divisions go for Double Points in an already heated championship showdown. Along with the Maplewood/Irving Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers and rk Miles Street Stocks, the non-point Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors return to The Road for plenty of thrills to come! Post Time is set for 7:00pm with the full race day schedule to be released in the near future.
