Officials Release 61st Vermont Milk Bowl Schedule, Ready for Iconic End-of-Season Festivities
/Barre, VT — Thunder Road Officials released the three-day schedule and pricing information for the 61st Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank starting with Practice Day on Friday, September 29 through Sunday, October 1. Officials are prepped and prepared for North America’s Toughest Short Track Stock Car Race as drivers continue to turn in entry forms, each looking to join the granite tablet of legends that have taken the iconic win and kissed the cow in victory lane.
Friday, September 29 brings the calm before the storm with Practice Day. With the pits opening at 10:00am, revolving practice will run from 12:00pm to 5:00pm for a cool and collective start to the Vermont Milk Bowl weekend.
Saturday, September 30 has an early 7:00am start for the busy Booth Bros./Hood Milk Bowl Qualifying Day that includes feature racing for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models and the New England Supermodified Series. Racing action will begin at 1:00pm with Time Trials for the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Models plus group time trials for the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers and rk Miles Street Stocks. Both the Flying Tigers and Street Stocks will contend their first of two segment Mini Milk Bowls on Saturday along with the PASS and NESS invasion. Saturday will also feature the Late Model ‘Triple-50’ Heat Races, each holding a $4,300 purse for the top-10 finishers with the top finishers locked into the Milk Bowl starting field.
Sunday, October 1 features the 61st Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank. Starting off with the Late Model B-Feature, Last Chance Qualifier at 12:15pm, segment one of the Vermont Milk Bowl will begin promptly at 1:30pm following the iconic opening ceremonies. The Flying Tigers and Street Stocks will contend the second segment and crown their Mini Milk Bowl champion while the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors also join the fun. It all ends with the world-famous Vermont Milk Bowl victory lane as the championship crew gets a lap of honor around the highbanks with the winner getting a world-class milk bath after landing a kiss on a hand-picked, drop-dead gorgeous Vermont dairy cow!
Already, over thirty of the best American-Canadian Tour and Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model pilots have thrown their hats in the ring. Craftsbury’s Stephen Martin was the first to file his official Milk Bowl entry while former champions Jason Corliss, Bobby Therrien, Joey Polewarczyk, Brian Hoar and John Donahue have also entered the event.
Racing returns for the last great show of the Thunder Road season with the 61st Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank on Saturday, September 30th and Sunday, October 1st. Booth Bros./Hood Qualifying Saturday will feature Milk Bowl qualifying for the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Models along with the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, rk Miles Street Stocks, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models and the New England Supermodified Series. Sunday is headlined by the $100,000 Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank with the Flying Tigers and Street Stocks finishing out their Mini Milk Bowl alongside the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors.
