Community College of Vermont Continues Thunder Road Partnership, Throws Support Behind Road Warrior Challenge
/Barre, VT — A longtime and popular sponsor continued its partnership with Thunder Road this week as Community College of Vermont returned for a new date with the venerable Central Vermont speedbowl in 2024. Community College of Vermont will now support the annual 50-lap Challenge for the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors on Thursday, August 8.
As the second largest post-secondary institution in the State of Vermont, Community College of Vermont strives to both support and challenge all students to meet their individual educational goals through commitment to access, affordability, and student success. Since its founding in 1970, CCV has received national recognition for its innovative programs and its unique way of bringing college learning to over 10,000 residents annually in all parts of the Green Mountain State.

2024 marks the sixth consecutive 50-lap Challenge for the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors, an event that has become an annual showcase of exciting sportsmanship, spectacular action and seeing just how much these junkyard machines can take on the Barre highbanks!
Community College of Vermont Night on Thursday, August 8 is headlined by the 6t annual Road Warrior Challenge plus track championship action for the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers and rk Miles Street Stocks! The 2024 season begins in earnest on Saturday, May 4 with the fan-favorite Thunder Road car show at the track before the 26th annual Community Bank 150 for the American-Canadian Tour on Sunday, May 5!
