History, Tradition and Career Defining Performances on Tap for Sunday’s 62nd Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank
/Barre, VT — Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! It’s the big dance, the granddaddy of them all, the 62nd Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank with history ready to be made in the Toughest Short Track Stock Car Race in North America. The winner of Sunday’s three-segment Vermont Milk Bowl will take home at least $12,000, not counting any of the $15,000 in lap money up for grabs or the $15,000 in combined point bonuses, along with the chance to kiss a genuine Vermont beauty queen in victory lane and have their name forever etched in granite on the hallowed grounds of Thunder Road International Speedbowl.
Sunday’s showcase starts at 12:15pm with the Last Chance B-Feature for the American-Canadian Tour/Maplefields-Irving Late Models as the last remaining drivers desperately make a final attempt to make it into the show. Then comes all the pomp and circumstance of the Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank. The brave drivers who have qualified into the Milk Bowl will turn and burn into Segment #1, the first of three, 50-lap segments. While the first segment’s starting order is based on Saturday qualifying, the Segment #2 and Segment #3 line-ups are determined by inverting the finish of the previous segment! In each segment drivers earn points based on their finishing position with the overall winner determined by the lowest combined score and any ties will be broken by their finish in the final segment.
The special point bonuses include a $10,000 bonus to the driver that secures the ‘Perfect Score’ of just 3 points by winning all three segments and a $5,000 bonus if the winning driver earns a score of just 4 or 5 points. Drivers in all three segments will also be battling for the lap leader money with $100-per-lap split among the lap leader ($50) and the drivers running second ($30) and third ($20) in each lap.
Among the top dogs looking to join the historic wins list of some of North America’s greatest stock car drivers, 2024 King of the Road Kaiden Fisher, defending Milk Bowl victor Stephen Donahue and American-Canadian Tour point leader Gabe Brown lead the packed entry list.
