Thunder Road, WMMP Return to Berlin Mall for Car Show This Weekend

This weekend, racing fans in Vermont can get an early start on the 2020 season. Race cars from Barre, VT’s Thunder Road and N. Woodstock, NH’s White Mountain Motorsports Park (WMMP) will be on display at the Berlin Mall Car Show in central Vermont this Friday, February 28 through Sunday, March 1.

For the second straight year, fans and Berlin Mall customers can get up close with cars they’ll see racing throughout Vermont and New Hampshire this year.  This year’s Berlin Mall Car Show is even bigger than the 2019 edition with nine cars slated to appear.

The line-up includes cars from the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, Allen Lumber Street Stocks, Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors, and Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis. Two go-karts will also be displayed from the Junior Champ Kart kid’s program at Thunder Road and WMMP.

Once they’ve seen the cars, fans can stick around and watch some racing. Aaron’s of Barre, VT has provided a big-screen TV to show Thunder Road events from the 2018 and 2019 seasons filmed by CVTSport.net. A Race to Read table will be set up on Saturday, February 29 for kids to learn more about the popular literacy program and sign up for this year’s reading challenges.

“Even with the snow on the ground, the local racing season will be here before you know it,” Thunder Road and WMMP managing partner Cris Michaud said. “The Berlin Mall Car Show is a great way to build excitement and give fans a preview of the coming season. It’s at a location most of our fans can get to easily and where teams can also catch the eyes of new fans. We had a lot of fun at the Berlin Mall last year and are looking forward to being back this weekend.”

The Berlin Mall Car Show is set for Friday, February 28 through Sunday, March 1 during normal mall hours. The mall is open on Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm and on Sunday from 11:00am to 5:00pm. It is centrally located at 282 Berlin Mall Road in Berlin, VT off Interstate 89 exit 7.

Thunder Road opens its 2020 racing season with the 22nd Community Bank N.A. 150 featuring the American-Canadian Tour on Sunday, May 3 at 1:30pm. The White Mountain Motorsports Park season opener is set for Saturday, May 9 at 6:00pm.
