Myers Container Service Triple Crown Opener Headlines Popular Scout Night and Kid’s Rides
/Barre, VT — After yet another week off due to severe thunderstorms, Thunder Road is ready to return in a big way this Thursday, June 27. Headlined by Round #1 of the Myers Container Service Triple Crown Series for the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, this Thursday also serves as the popular return for two Thunder Road staples; the annual Kids Rides around the 1/4-mile highbanks and Scout Night, with all Scouts in Uniform admitted free!
Colchester’s Sam Caron leads ‘North America’s Number One Support Division’ back to the Nation’s Site of Excitement on Thursday as the popular Flying Tigers are ready to roll for 75-laps of heart-pounding action. While Caron is certainly enjoying his odds at a second track championship, the Myers Container Service Triple Crown has eluded him over the years. Defending Myers Triple Crown champion Logan Powers has shown growing consistency behind the wheel of his machine and would love to be the first Flying Tiger pilot to claim two consecutive Myers Container Crowns!
As with all the divisions at Thunder Road, the Maplefield/Irving Late Models are chomping at the bit to get back to feature racing action this Thursday. A tie atop the standings between Cody Blake and Chip Grenier is more than a week overdue for breaking, with anticipation rising for these two top caliber drivers and the fans in the stands that cheer them on each Thursday! Another tie for fourth and a three-way tie for eighth signals another competitive season ahead for the ‘Thunder and Lightning’ division of the Nation’s Site of Excitement.
Milton’s Trevor Jaques leads the rk Miles Street Stocks into Scout Night this Thursday. The popular driver continues to improve each and every week as he looks to march all the way to September’s finish line with a championship trophy hoisted over his head! A highly competitive group led by Dean Switser, Jr. looks to topple Jaques in the early season with a busy July ahead!
After two weeks off, the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors are ready to rip on the Barre highbanks with everyone’s favorite shade tree mechanic looking for the Scout Night win! So far, fans have witnessed a first-time winner in Kendall Zeno and a multi-time winner in Nate ‘Tater’ Brien standing in victory lane; Which column breaks the tie on Thursday?

Thursday, June 27 is also Scout Night, with scouts in uniform admitted free, plus the annual Kids Rides from 4:00 to 4:45pm with the Maplefields/Irving Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, rk Miles Street Stocks and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors!
The four-division card gets underway at 7:00pm Post Time, grandstands open at 4:00pm in time for Kids Rides. Adult General Admission is set at $15 with kids 12-6 for $5 and children 5 and under free! The Family Four Pack (Two Adults, Two Kids) is also available for $30.
