Action Packed Vermont Tire & Service Night Greets Thursday Faithful at Thunder Road

Barre, VT — Thursday night racing returns to Thunder Road this week in the second of three events in an eight-day stretch during the busy month of August. An action-packed Vermont Tire & Service Night greets race fans with double Flying Tiger features, including the second round of the Myers Container Service Triple Crown Series, plus the Late Models, Street Stocks and Road Warriors! Don’t forget, Vermont Tire & Service Night is also the annual Kid’s Poster Contest and all Vermont Black Bears hockey players in uniform receive Free Admission!

The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers highlight Vermont Tire & Service Night by starting off Thursday’s program with the rain-postponed second round of the Myers Container Service Triple Crown! Twenty-six drivers qualified into the 75-lap affair on Sunday and all are expected to rejoin the field for Thursday’s make-up. The Flying Tigers will not only battle in for the Triple Crown honors prior to next Thursday’s series championship, but they’ll return later in the program for a FloRacing Double Purse event to boot!

Kaiden Fisher continues to lead the Maplefield/Irving Late Model pack and has now climbed to just the second driver to claim multiple wins in the division after Sunday’s 50-lap victory. While Fisher has made some headway on the King of the Road championship chase, quiet consistence has put Brandon Lanphear firmly in third behind three-time King Scott Dragon. Lanphear and the Green’s ACE Hardware team have put on a great effort this season with the Morrisville driver looking to nab his first win of the season on Thursday.

Also winless on the season is rk Miles Street Stock point leader Dean Switser, Jr. The Waterford driver has podiumed several times this season but has yet to grab the brass ring on his way to a second track championship in the most competitive four-cylinder division in New England. After taking the 50-lap special and maintaining a top-ten finish in Sunday’s 25-lap main, Trevor Jaques has bounced back to second on the points sheet with plenty of opportunity left this season to regain the top spot. With the rain delays affecting the Street Stocks most of all, the rk Miles Street Stock Triple Crown will wrap up on Sunday’s rescheduled Community College of Vermont night.

The Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors also return on Vermont Tire & Service Night for their final test and tune prior to Sunday’s rescheduled 50-lap Challenge.

Thunder Road is back in action this Thursday, August 15 for Vermont Tire & Service Night at The Road!
