Rain Dampens Fan-Favorite Run-What-U-Brung, Moved to Friday, September 1st

Barre, VT — On what started out as a perfect afternoon in Central Vermont suddenly turned gray, deary and, worst of all, wet on Thursday. Following the conclusion of qualifying for rk Miles Street Stocks and Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Models, rains began to fall on the Thunder Road property causing the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers to duck into the pit area. After track drying was nearly complete, with the help of the Flying Tigers, a heavier batch of rain moved back into the area, and the radar to prompt officials to pull the plug. Jet Service Envelope/Accura Printing Night has been postponed to Friday, September 1st to kick-start Labor Day weekend at Thunder Road prior to Sunday’s 45t Labor Day Classic 200 for the American-Canadian Tour.

Jet Service Envelope/Accura Printing Night will continue in its entirety on Friday, September 1st beginning with Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warrior qualifying, the four feature events for the Thunder Road divisions and the world-famous Run-What-U-Brung Spectator Drags. All Pit Passes and General Admission tickets from Thursday, August 24th will be honored on Friday, September 1st.

Further changes to the rest of the 2023 Thunder Road schedule will be announced tomorrow.

Thunder Road returns to action for a double-shot of Vermont’s best short track racing on Labor Day weekend starting with the weather-delayed Jet Service Envelope/Accura Printing Night, including the Run-What-U-Brung showdown on Friday, September 1st before coming back to life on Sunday, September 3rd for the 45th Labor Day Classic 200 presented by New England Federal Credit Union for the American-Canadian Tour. D.J. Shaw narrowly took down his first ACT Thunder Road win to etch his name in the Granite Monument, who will be next?
